Online training from Erasmus Student Network in cooperation with the National Erasmus + Office in Ukraine (19.02.21, online)
On 19 February 2020, an online training with participation Erasmus Student Network in cooperation with the National Erasmus + Office in Ukraine for IROs of Ukrainian HEIs. The event was joined by more than 60 representatives of departments of international relations and student government of universities from all over Ukraine.
The training was conducted to familiarize with the possibility of creating a similar ESN community at the university, with the peculiarities of ESN Kyiv’s work with foreign students who come to Ukrainian universities for exchanges, as well as tools and cases of implementing an effective Buddy System. Kateryna Zhdanova, NEO – Ukraine Manager, emphasised the importance of the ESN community for universities implementing Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility projects and accepting foreign students for exchange and full course. The speaker highlighted the issue of improving the image and attractiveness of Ukrainian HEIs.
In addition, the event was attended by Andriy LOTAREV, Head of the Department of International Cooperation, KROK University, and Halyna BOGACHENKO, Project and Program Manager (EU Grant International Projects), KROK University, who presented the Erasmus+ CBHE INTERADIS project achieved results on development of new knowledge and skills in working with foreign students.
The practical part of the event was conducted by Elizaveta PIDOPRYHORA, President, Erasmus Student Network Kyiv and Tetyana FEDORCHUK, Co-Founder, Erasmus Student Network Kyiv, Liaison Officer for the Western Balkans and Eastern Neighborhood at Erasmus Student Network. During their presentations, the speakers presented the mission, vision and main tasks within the activities and cooperation with ESN Kyiv. During the practical part, the main elements and platform for the implementation of the Buddy System in HEIs accepting foreign students for Erasmus+ exchanges were presented, as well as the first steps to develop the ESN community as volunteers in Ukrainian universities. The event was also attended by representatives of the newly created ESN Chernivtsi Candidate section, who shared their fresh impressions of creating a community.
